About Terravel

Terravel is a daily geography game and an independent place-discovery project. We publish one small challenge at a time, then give curious people somewhere real to explore more deeply.

Who publishes the website?

Terravel publishes the iPhone app, browser game, place atlas, quizzes and destination guides on this website. The same project maintains the underlying catalog of coordinates, countries, continents, questions, stories and credited images.

How are place pages made?

Every atlas page begins with a real geographic or cultural place in the Terravel catalog. We check the name, country, continent and coordinates; keep photography credits and licenses visible; organize the material into direct questions; and link related places so readers can keep exploring.

Destination guides add practical context from official tourism boards, protected-area managers, UNESCO or other primary sources. Sources appear at the end of each guide. We distinguish researched planning information from first-hand experience: Terravel does not claim to have personally visited every place it covers.

Why publish travel guides?

A quiz can make a place memorable, but a useful guide answers the next questions: Where is it? Why does the landscape look that way? How might someone visit responsibly? What needs to be checked before a trip? The guides connect geographic curiosity with practical planning without turning every destination into a checklist.

Editorial promise

We aim for clear sourcing, original organization, credited imagery and honest limits. We do not sell tours, accept undisclosed destination placement, or present changing prices and schedules as permanent facts.

Corrections and updates

Travel conditions, access rules and scientific understanding change. Each guide carries a publication or update date, and practical details should be confirmed with its linked official sources. If you find an error, missing credit or outdated detail, please contact Terravel.
