Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

The short version: almost everything Terravel knows about you stays on your device. Leaderboard data uses a random app ID, and gameplay analytics are sent only if you opt in. We don't run ads or track you across other apps.

What stays on your device

Your reminders, saved places, guesses, collection and daily streak are stored locally on your phone. They never leave your device unless you choose to share a card or send an optional feedback note.

What we collect, and why

Terravel uses a small amount of data to provide leaderboards and, only with your permission, understand how the app is used:

DataWhat it isWhy
Anonymous IDA random identifier generated on your device. It is not your Apple ID, email, or advertising identifier. To keep your leaderboard rank and streak consistent.
Gameplay eventsBasic in-app actions such as guesses, reveals, and feature usage. These are sent only after you choose “Share anonymous usage.”Optional anonymous analytics to improve the app.
Optional feedback noteThe text you enter only when you choose “Share an anonymous note.” Terravel does not attach your name, email, profile, analytics ID, or device ID.To read and act on product feedback you choose to send.
Display name & streakOnly if you choose to join a leaderboard: the display name you enter and your streak/score.To show you on the leaderboard.
Purchase statusWhether you have an active Terravel+ subscription, handled by the App Store through our payments provider, RevenueCat.To unlock Terravel+ features and restore purchases.

What we do not collect

Tracking

We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers. Because of this, Terravel does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.

You can enable or disable anonymous gameplay analytics at any time in Terravel's Settings. Analytics are off until you make that choice.

Third-party services

Website analytics

On terravel.ink, optional Google Analytics measures page visits, quiz play, sharing actions and App Store button clicks after you choose “Allow analytics.” Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish visits. Advertising storage, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag configuration. Our custom events do not include your name, your circle code, or the text of your answers.

You can choose “No thanks” and still play, or change your choice using “Analytics preferences” in the footer. We remember that preference in this browser. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control prevent our Google Analytics tag from loading. If analytics has not been configured, no Google tag is loaded.

Our website also includes Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate website traffic. Links to the App Store may include a public campaign label, such as Instagram, so Apple can report downloads attributed to our marketing. A click does not tell us that you installed the app. See Google's privacy policy and Vercel's analytics privacy details.

Data retention

Leaderboard and analytics records are kept only as long as needed to provide those features. Use Settings → Delete my data to remove your server-side leaderboard profile and reset its random ID. Disable Anonymous analytics in Settings to stop future gameplay analytics. You can remove all locally stored data by deleting the app.

Children

Terravel is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It contains no user-to-user messaging and no advertising.
